See you in Námestovo
Tanečno is an international dance and movement festival held in Námestovo, on the shore of the Orava Reservoir. Most festival venues are located in or near the town centre and can be reached on foot.
Where should I travel to?
Destination: Námestovo, Slovakia
Bus station: Námestovo, aut. st.
Námestovo does not have a railway station. You will need to complete the final part of your journey by bus or car.

Travelling by public transport
Journeys to Námestovo most commonly involve a transfer in Kraľovany, Žilina, Ružomberok, Dolný Kubín, Tvrdošín or Trstená. The best route depends on your point and time of departure.
Via Kraľovany
Take a train to Kraľovany and continue by bus to Námestovo; some connections require a transfer in Dolný Kubín. This is often one of the most convenient routes from Bratislava.
Via Žilina
Travel to Žilina by train or bus, then take a bus to Námestovo. Žilina offers a wider choice of long-distance connections.
Via Ružomberok
Travel to Ružomberok by train or bus, then continue by bus via Dolný Kubín to Námestovo.
From abroad
Arriving by plane
When choosing a flight, compare not only the airfare but also the onward journey to Námestovo. All travel times are approximate and depend on connections and traffic.
Kraków · KRK
One of the closest major airports. The easiest option is a rental car or shared ride, taking approximately 2–2.5 hours.
Public transport usually requires several transfers. One possible route is via central Kraków, Zakopane, Suchá Hora and Trstená. A regular direct connection may not be available.
Bratislava · BTS
Travel from the airport to Bratislava's main railway or bus station. Continue via Kraľovany, Žilina or Ružomberok. Allow approximately 5–6 hours in total.
Vienna · VIE
Take a bus to Bratislava, then continue by train or bus via Kraľovany, Žilina or Ružomberok. Allow approximately 6–7 hours.
Poprad-Tatry · TAT
A smaller airport with limited flights. Continue towards Ružomberok and then take a bus via Dolný Kubín. The journey may take approximately 3–4 hours.

Driving is often the most convenient option, especially for groups that can share the cost. Travel times may vary depending on traffic and your route.

Where to stay
Accommodation during the festival
In Námestovo and around the Orava Reservoir, you can stay in a hotel, guesthouse, apartment, cottage, campsite or student residence. August is peak tourist season, so book as early as possible.
Námestovo town centre
The most convenient option. Most festival venues, restaurants and shops can be reached on foot.
Orava Reservoir
Slanická Osada and the surrounding area offer guesthouses, apartments, cottages and campsites. Check the distance from the centre and evening transport before booking.
Nearby towns and villages
Try Klin, Oravská Jasenica, Zubrohlava, Tvrdošín, Trstená or Dolný Kubín. You may need a car if you stay outside Námestovo.

Camping by the Orava Reservoir
Autocamp Jami
A small campsite in the Vojenské area, directly on the shore of the reservoir. It offers pitches for tents and caravans, electrical hook-ups and cabin accommodation.

Taxis in and around Námestovo
Affordable local taxis operate in Námestovo and the surrounding area. They can take you to accommodation by the reservoir or in nearby villages, including after late-night events.
Sova Taxi
Sova Taxi operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A typical short ride within Námestovo or nearby usually costs up to approximately €5. Confirm the price when booking.
