Contemporary Dance Basics

Together, we will explore and immerse ourselves in the fundamentals of contemporary dance technique. We will use floorwork and movement through space to unlock our creativity while developing coordination and memory through various choreographic exercises.
The workshop is suitable for all lovers of movement and dance. No previous dance experience is required.

Paulína Šmatláková
Paulína Šmatláková has been active on the international dance scene since 2016. She graduated in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
From 2017 to 2020, she was an active member of Holstebro Dansekompagni in Denmark, where she later became a choreographic assistant, tour manager and rehearsal director.
In Slovakia, Paulína has performed with the TRAKT association and choreographer Radoslav Piovarči in Charon (2021), choreographer Lucia Holinová in Sen (2023), and the TANEČNO collective in The Urge (2022). She was also part of the production of the feature film ZENITH, directed by György Kristóf and choreographed by Anton Lachky (Budapest, 2021).
Since 2022, she has also been active in Prague, working as a performer and assistant with BURKICOM under the direction of choreographer and director Jana Burkiewiczová. She has been involved in several productions, including Směj se, pořád se směj! (2026), Slunce (2024), Louskáček (2023) and Ostrov! (2022).
In 2023, she founded the artistic association GIPALI Productions in Denmark, where she works as artistic director, choreographer and performer. Paulína is currently active on the independent dance scene in Denmark, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
