Special Dance

Anna Sedlačková, Katarína Truliková, Tibor Trulik

Special Dance is a workshop designed for families of children with physical or intellectual disabilities – including parents, children, siblings, and caregivers – as well as contemporary dancers.

The workshop creates a space for movement-based sharing between the performers of Rebeka, contemporary dancers, and participating families. The dancers share their experience of sensory movement awareness and explore how the principles of contact improvisation can be applied through touch and movement. In return, the children contribute their own perspectives, possibilities, and unique forms of movement expression.

Through movement and dance, the workshop explores themes of inclusion, non-hierarchical relationships, and kinesthetic empathy.
