V
Tanečno Collective
“V” is a composed dance performance consisting of five distinct solo works — five independent presences sharing the same space, yet never entirely the same world.
The letter V marks a turning point. A divergence. It is the shape of a decision, the moment between before and after. Each performer enters the stage as an autonomous presence, carrying their own memory, tension, and silence. Here, movement is not an illustration of emotion, but its emergence — a process through which the body attempts to understand itself.
The solo works pass by one another, resonate, and fade like traces of presence. What remains is not a story, but an experience — an awareness of the fragility of identity and its constant transformation. The audience becomes a witness to a space where closeness does not necessarily mean encounter, and solitude is not the absence of others.
“V” poses the question of whether it is ever possible to be whole, or whether we are always moving toward something that is continually receding or drawing nearer.

BIO
TANEČNO Collective
The Tanečno Collective was founded alongside the festival of the same name, which has been bringing a multidisciplinary festival of dance and movement to the Orava region since 2017. What began as a collaboration between young dance artists connected through their studies—and, above all, through shared artistic values and close personal relationships—has evolved into a creative and performing collective dedicated to original artistic work while actively collaborating with invited artists and choreographers.
The collective’s work is characterized by multidisciplinarity, inclusivity, innovation, and a commitment to making contemporary dance more accessible to wider audiences. The diverse backgrounds, experiences, and artistic practices of its members continuously enrich the collective’s creative process and inspire new forms of collaboration.
The members bring together experience gained through studies at internationally recognized institutions, including SEAD Salzburg, MUK Vienna, the University of Stavanger, the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), Janáček Academy of Performing Arts (JAMU), and the Jan Albrecht Music and Arts Academy (KJJB). They are also members of renowned artistic companies and institutions such as Farma v jeskyni, MimoOs, Instituinstitut, Artemporis, dNO, JAMU, VŠMU, and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU), and collaborate with leading Slovak and international choreographers and artists including Ronda, Oran, Milan Tomášik Lachky, Šavel, Viliam Dočolomanský, Jaro Viňarský, Stanislava Vlčeková, Peter Herich, Burkievičová, Petra Fornayová Ferienčíková, Poláková, Bobalík, Matejka, Korec, and Pregrad.
Since its establishment, the collective has created and presented numerous stage productions in collaboration with choreographers and artistic organizations, including YOLT – You Only Live Twice, Pass In, Strings, and the curated solo format Jedinečno (“Uniqueness”), as well as several site-specific and public space projects such as The Urge, Passing/Station, and Streetnutia.
The collective is currently developing an expanded version of Passing/Station and preparing a new public space happening titled Dance to the Cable Cars (Tanec lanovkám).
